Research Summaries

June 24, 2022

Henry Lai’s Research Summaries Research Summaries have been updated in 2022 for genetic, neurological and free radical (oxidative damage) studies. They are subdivided to show ELF-EMF/static field from RFR studies. New graphics for each of the 2022 updates detail the number of studies showing ‘effect vs no effect’. A clear majority of studies report biological effects as opposed to ’no effect’. Electrohypersensitivity studies and comet assay studies were not updated in 2022. RFR Research Summary (1990-2017) Genetic Effects of Non-Ionizing EMF Abstracts (2022) Genetics Effects Studies Percent Comparison Graphic 2022 [...]

Updated Research Summaries

June 15, 2022

2022 Updated Research Summaries (May 2022) These are invaluable sets of abstracts and tables covering the RFR and ELF-EMF/Static Field studies of the genetic and neurological literature, on studies of free radicals (oxidative damage), on comet assay studies, and on electrohypersensitivitity. Three graphics show summaries of Effect vs No Effect by percent comparison. The trend continues that the great majority of studies report biological effects of low-intensity exposures to both ELF-EMF/Static Field and RFR. Please see Research Summaries in the menu to download new files for 2022. The RFR Research [...]

Martin Blank (1933-2018)

July 2, 2018

It is with great appreciation for Martin Blank that the BioInitiative Working Group acknowledges his many contributions, and sadness we feel in losing a cherished friend and humanitarian. Martin was the kind of scientist and colleague who understood that science needs a human voice. In his professional life, he gave endlessly to promote public communication on complex health issues. He understood that waiting for academic certainty on scientific issues would penalize families who should be preventing EMF exposures in their children’s critical developmental phases of life. He didn’t shy away [...]

Electromagnetic Fields, Pulsed Radiofrequency Radiation, and Epigenetics: How Wireless Technologies May Affect Childhood Development

May 15, 2017

Announcing a Special Section of Child Development from © The Society for Research in Child Development, Inc. Contemporary Mobile Technology and Child and Adolescent Development, edited by Zheng Yan and Lennart Hardell, May 15, 2017 Article by Cindy Sage and Ernesto Burgio Abstract Mobile phones and other wireless devices that produce electromagnetic fields (EMF) and pulsed radiofrequency radiation (RFR) are widely documented to cause potentially harmful health impacts that can be detrimental to young people. New epigenetic studies are profiled in this review to account for some neurodevelopmental and neurobehavioral [...]

Effects of Mobile Phones on Children’s and Adolescents’ Health: A Commentary

Announcing a Special Section of Child Development from © The Society for Research in Child Development, Inc. Contemporary Mobile Technology and Child and Adolescent Development, edited by Zheng Yan and Lennart Hardell, May 15, 2017 Article by Lennart Hardell Orebro University Abstract The use of digital technology has grown rapidly during the last couple of decades. During use, mobile phones and cordless phones emit radiofrequency (RF) radiation. No previous generation has been exposed during childhood and adolescence to this kind of radiation. The brain is the main target organ for [...]
